Juvenile Justice Council of Iroquois County Meeting Minutes 9-27-24
The Juvenile Justice Council is devoted to improving the lives of Iroquois County youth. The minutes from their last meeting will provide updates on both their accomplishments and plans for the future. Help the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department keep Iroquois County safe! Proper disposal of medications can help prevent accidental poisoning, substance abuse, and contamination of water resources. Clean out your medicine cabinet and take part in the DEA National Rx Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 26th!
Tune in to 94.1 WGFA on Thursday, October 17th at 8:15 a.m. to hear Jenni McTaggart represent the Juvenile Justice Council of Iroquois County during a live Hotline Interview. She will be sharing information about Red Ribbon Week and all of the fun activities that the JJC has planned for this important prevention week. Tune in to hear how you, your family, and your community can get involved!
Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated the week of October 23rd-31st. It’s an ideal way for schools and communities to unite to take a visible stand against drug misuse. This year’s theme is “Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free.”
The Juvenile Justice Council of Iroquois County together with I-KAN ROE and the Pledge for Life Partnership would like students and families to show their creativity in honor of Red Ribbon Week by participating in our Coloring Contest! The coloring contest was designed in a unique way to include a wide range of ages. It will be featured in the weekend edition of The Daily Journal on October 19th-20th or you may print it out from this post or our Facebook page. Entries must be received by November 2nd and may be dropped off at the Watseka Public Library or dropped off or mailed to the I-KAN ROE. Good luck to all! Get ready to celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 23rd-31st! Encourage youth to live healthy, happy, and drug-free! Enter the JJC’s Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest for a chance to win an Amazon gift card, swag, and a visit from the JJC’s mascot Ollie the Owl. All Iroquois County residents can enter. Judging categories include: classroom, home, business, and organization. Get creative and show your prevention spirit!
